Winter Teva Mountain Games

The 2012 Winter Teva Mountain Games is a new event presented by Eddie Bauer, Teva, and the Vail Valley Foundation. Join Vail residents and visitors as they watch thousands of athletes compete for $60,000 this coming February 9-12!

  Vail Valley's Snowball Festival, or "Snowchella," is the first large-scale indie concert to come to the area since the Monolith Festivals. The concert will be held March 4-6th with headliners Pretty Lights and Bassnectar. Other electronic and indie bands include Diplo, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Big Gigantic, and 12th Planet.

Vail offers an extensive selection of bars, restaurants, après ski spots, hotel lounges, and a few nightclubs. The main stretch of nightlife is on Bridge Street, from Hanson Ranch Road to the covered bridge at the Gore Creek Inn. Guests of the Ritz Carlton Vail, Four Seasons Vail, and Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch Residence Clubs will have no problem finding fun things to do in Vail.

The new Bol in the Solaris building in Vail Village is a fun new venue that combines a bowling alley, bar and restaurant. This is not your average bowling alley! Bol features modern decor and private lanes, separated by curtains, to create a more intimate bowling experience. There are DJs spinning lounge music on the weekends, a long bar, and a wait staff to cater to your food needs - on the lanes or at a table.

Cinebistro is a chain of retsaurants that also show movies. Their new Vail location opened this summer and is a great way to spend the evening. Now you don't have to go to dinner and then to the movies -  you can have a full service dinner (with plenty of great options on the menu) and watch a movie at the same time!

Many guests of the Ritz Carlton Residence Club Bachelor Gulch enjoy horseback riding through the Rocky Mountains as a way to experience the backcountry. Ride through meadows and forests and see streams, wildlife, and picturesque views.

  Vail Mountain and Highline Sports and Entertainment are throwing Vail Snow Daze 2010 from December 6 through 12th with artists O.A.R., Dwight Yoakam, and Weezer. This free concert begins with Mix Master Mike from the Beastie Boys DJing the Rolling Stones Magazine Club Vail Street Pary, after the Demolition Derby at Golden Peak.

Vail Cabaret Nights at Marketplace on Meadow Drive are back! This entertaining and unique combination of live Broadway music and gourmet food begins June 30th to July 31st, every Wednesday through Sunday from 7pm to 10pm. Food served will be award winning tapas, pizzas, and crepes, as well as wine, cocktails and beer.

Bach on the Rocks is a group for young professionals created by the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival to generate interest in the arts and to give them networking opportunities.

Craig Robinson of "The Office" and "Hot Tub Time Machine" will be hosting this year's seventh season of 'Last Comic Standing.' The show airs this summer and features a nationwide search for the funniest comedian or comedienne in America, as well as guest performances. Talent scouts like Greg Geraldo, Andy Kindler and Natasha Leggerro judge performances and will award the winner with a $250,000 prize and an exclusive contract with NBC.

Hot Summer Nights is a free concert series event held every Tuesday evening at 6:30pm throughout the summer months. Concerts are held at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater and promise a good time for all!

The American National Bank Showdown Town is a free concert event in Eagle Park on Thursdays during the summer at 6:30pm. There is free music and kids activities, so the entire family can be entertained. Picnics are encouraged! Enjoy hillbilly funk, 80s tribute bands, Reggae, country rock, and rockabilly.

Taste of Vail is a Colorado culinary event that has been going on for the past 20 years. Vail Daily reports that there are signs of trouble for Taste of Vail, partly as a result of the economy, and partly due to trouble within the organization itself.

If you stayed at the Ritz Carlton Residence Club in Bachelor Gulch over the weekend, you were there for Vail Mountain Closing Day, when Vail's World Pond Skimming Championships were held at the Golden Peak ski area. This year's Pond Skimming Championships drew in the biggest crowd in the event's eight year history. There was free BBQ and turkey legs as thousands watched costumed skiers and snowboarders attempt to clear a 100-foot, ice cold pond.
