Puerto Vallarta Activities and Things To Do

Whale watching is a popular activity at the Marietas Islands off the coast of the Bahia de Banderas, where the Four Seasons Punta Mita Residence Club is located.   The Malecon Puerto Vallarta is a waterfront promenade along the coast of the Bahia de Banderas, where the Four Seasons Residence Club Punta Mita is located.  Surfing is a popular activity in Punta Mita, where the Four Seasons Residence Club Punta Mita is located.

The Four Seasons Residence Club Resort and Residence Club is located in Punta Mita, a nature reserve on the tip of the Bahia de Banderas, the second largest bay in North America. The beaches along the Bahia de Banderas are beautiful white sand beaches with interesting lava rock formations and views of the Sierra Madre Mountains in the background. This exotic setting provides a variety of active, culinary, and culture related things to do and explore.

Puerto Vallarta, a popular tourist destination, is about 30-45 minutes away from Punta Mita. Punta Mita is a gated resort community, so it can be fun to leave the grounds and experience a little more of the local culture.

1. The Marietas Islands are a group of untouched, protected islands off the coast. The deep caverns and archways of the island's rocky architecture and clear waters create beautiful scenery. You can find the best snorkeling in the area on the Marietas Islands, and there are plenty of tropical fish, sea turtles, dolphins, and giant manta rays to see.

2. Humpback whales migrate to give birth to their young through the Bahia de Banderas from December through March. You can see groups of whales and their young swimming through.

3. Charter the Four Seasons Punta Mita's 47' Bentau performance sailing yacht for sunset sailing around the bay, a trip to the Marietas Islands, or whale watching.

4. The Four Seasons Punta Mita offers on site shopping at four luxury shops. Newai is a luxury goods and jewellrey store that features pieces from well known Mexican designers. Neyao is a men's clothing store, Nekawe is for women, and Nomuchi is for children.

5. The Malecon Puerto Vallarta, a waterfront promendae, offers a walking tour of the city, with great views of the bay. You can stop at a cafe overlooking the water, relax, and take in the view.

6. The Vallarta Botanical Gardens are located high in the Sierra Madres and features thousands of different species of plants in a unique dry forest tropical ecosystem at 1,300 feet above sea level. The Gardens feature a variety of different exhibitions, including the Palm Gardens, Rose Gardens, Tree Fern Grotto, Orchid House, Jungle Trails, Tropical Bird Watching, Agave Gardens, Mexican Wildflowers, and Carnivorous Plant Collection. After walking through the Gardens, you can have lunch at the Hacienda de Oro Restaurant, where they offer pizzas, salads and Mexican specialties.

7. Vallarta Discovery is a tour operator that offers dolphin encounters, whale watching, sea lion encounters, scuba diving, snorkeling, and speedboat rides. They also offer a more adventurous option - a 4X4 and mule ride up into the Sierra Madre Mountains. Make your way back down by ziplining and rappelling through canyons and waterfalls and crossing jungle bridges.

8. Go scuba diving in Puerto Vallarta. There are plenty of dive shops along the beach.

9. Kite surfing has become very popular, especially at a small fishing village nearby called Bucerias.

10. You can find ranches in Puerto Vallarta that offer horseback riding through small villages and forests.

11. Davannayoga in Old Town Puerto Vallarta offers sunset yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Morning Yoga, and Children's Yoga.

12. Dolphin Adventures is offers dolphin encounters where people can actually swim with and touch the dolphins. There is a colony of Pacific bottlenose dolphins that live in the area. Dolphin Adventures is about 40 minutes away from the Four Seasons Punta Mita resort, and you can book appointments through the concierge.

13. There are several art galleries nearby,  many in Puerto Vallarta, that display Mexican fine art, home decor, sculptures, contemporary Mexican art, poettery, and more.

14. The Four Seasons Punta Mita Apuane Spa is an elegant spa that focuses on relaxation, rejuvenation and renewal. Their signature treatment, ha waye, uses healing waters from multiple Vichy shower heads while two therapists massage away the stress. There are three private outdoor spas throughout the resort. The Cabana Oceanside is located on the beach and offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. The Tamai Poolside Cabanas can be used for the whole day, and the Tamai Garden Cabana is a secluded room that focuses on shiatsu and Thai massage and reflexology. The Couple's Deluxe Package in the Apuana Spa Suite features a sunny steam room, hydrotherapy bathtub and shower, and private terrace that can be used for private dining.
