Aspen Mountain

Aspen is known around the world for its amazing terrain and luxurious resorts. Once an abandoned mining town, it was resusitated in 1937 when the first small ski area and winter sports center opened in Aspen Mountain, the flagship mountain of Aspen/Snowmass. Now there are deluxe ski areas throughout the four moutains of Aspen Snowmass, which are Aspen Moutain, the Aspen Highlands (home to the Ritz Carlton Aspen), Buttermilk Mountain, and Snowmass.
Guests can have their equpiment trasferred to and from any of the four areas in Aspen/Snowmass for $3, and have their gear tuned, waxed or repaired for an additional fee.
Aspen Mountain is located in the Roaring Fork Valley, and rises 11,212 feet out of the heart of downtown. The 673 acres of ski terrain, known for its steeps and bumps, is best suited for upper intermediate to expert level skiers. See image below for Aspen Mountain Stats, and click here for a detailed trail map.
Backcountry Showcat tours are available, as well as a restaurant right at the top of the Silver Queen Gondola. This dining facility, the Sundeck, boasts 30-foot ceilings, amazing views, and a massive Fire Pit. Sundeck is a cafeteria-style eatery.
The Aspen Mountain Club is an amazing venue for private events, located 11,200 feet above sea level. This 7,000 square foot facility, owned and operated by The Little Nell, is perfect for weddings and other special occasions. Guests arrive and depart via a lovely gondola ride.
