Aspen Highlands
.jpg)
The Aspen Highlands, the locals' favorite ski spot, is 1,028 acres, has a 3,635 foot drop,119 trails and the longest run is 3.5 miles. Aspen Highlands (home of the Ritz Carlton Aspen) are most famous for the Highland Bowl, a favorite of the expert skier. Most of this terrain is only accessible by foot or snowcat. The best snow is usually found in the G-Zones and B-Zones are the steepest.
Aspen Highlands Lower Terrain
Beginner and intermediate level trails are found towards the lower terrain, such as Thunderbowl, which hosts most of the ski competitions. The lower terrain also includes something for experts, the Lower Stein and P-Chutes.
Aspen Highlands Mid-Mountain
Mid-Mountain has a cool, 60's era Merry-Go-Round restaurant, located at the top of the Exhibition lift. The menu features an international menu and vegeterian choices, as well as a kids' menu and paninis. They use a lot of all natural and organic foods, as well as creations from local food artisans.
Aspen Highlands Upper Mountain
The Upper Mountain terrain is mostly for experts, and has only one intermediate run, the Broadway. This area is served by the Loge Peak high speed quad originating at the Merry-Go-Round. Expert runs Steeplechase and No Name Bowl are on either side. From the summit, you can see amazing views of the Maroon Bells, Pyramid Peak, Hayden Mountain, and the Highland Bowl.
