AFW 2010 Runway Report

Last week, ski fashion designers showed off their new collections at Aspen Fashion Week 2010 and demonstrated how function can meet fashion. Designers were all about high tech, waterproof fabrics that are chic, breathable and don't wrinkle in your suitcase. The week included apres ski fashion shows, screenings at Wheeler Opera House, and fabulous parties. The fashion shows were open to the public, and VIP seating was available for $100. Congrats to all the lucky fashion mavens who got the best seats in the house for this amazing event!
Runway Roundup
Volcom was all about 80s neon prints:

Marmot went with their signature fitted jackets:

Kjus, a high end ski wear line created by Norwegian Olympic skier Lasse Kjus, was all about neons. They used a color palette of neon mint greens, lavenders, corals, and grey, and used an interesting paint splatter pattern for the jackets:
Obermeyer, a local Colorado company, was created by German Klaus Obermeyer. He lives in Colorado and can still be found skiing at the age of 90! He is well known for having a friends and family sale every July. This year, his collection featured a shiny disco color palette, using metallic silver, grape, acid green, turquoise, cobalt, bright orange, red, and psychadellic prints:

A big trend this year at AFW 2010 was military chic. Parajumpers, an Italian line by Massimo Rossetti, featured leather ski pants, embroidery, and oversized fur huds. Parajumpers was named for the 210th Rescue Squadron stationed in Anchorage Alaska, a group that embarked on the toughest missions to save lives. Joining in this military trend are Authier and Dannenmann-Pure:
