Trouble For Taste of Vail?

Taste of Vail is a Colorado culinary event that has been going on for the past 20 years. Vail Daily reports that there are signs of trouble for Taste of Vail, partly as a result of the economy, and partly due to trouble within the organization itself.
Over the past 20 years, Taste of Vail has donated over $200,000. Unfortunately, the past 3 years have shown a decline in sponsorship and ticket revenue. This past year, 2009, Taste of Vail was unable to donate any money at all.
This year, Taste of Vail is reportedly $35,000 in the red, even after cutting expenses. Taste of Vail has not yet received half the sponsorship money it was promised - $60,000. In 2007 and 2008, sponsorship was over $100,000.
The good news is that number is up from last year, and Taste of Vail might actually just break even this year, according to Kevin Nelson, board member and owner of Terra Bistro.
Hopefully Taste of Vail can keep it together and work it out so that the event can continue serving the community, helping others, and entertaining locals and tourists!
