Jump start your summer with the crème-de-la-crème of culinary festivals, the Food and Wine Classic in Aspen. Each year visitors flock to Aspen to take part in this three-day extravaganza. Famous winemakers, celebrity chefs, and culinary luminaries will all be present and showcasing their favorite items. Described as a foodies paradise, more than 80 cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, and panel discussions will be held through the weekend.

Every year The Grand Tasting Pavilion takes center stage and holds more than 300 delectable wines and luxury brand lifestyle products. Make sure to take your time exploring every section as we can guarantee you will find a few new favorites to add to your must-have list.

In addition to the festival, Aspen will be bursting with events and parties throughout the weekend. We’ve listed out a few alternative activities that you can indulge in.

1. Sports activities. The FOOD & WINE Classic 5K Charity Race is an all time favorite and is open to all. The race starts at 7:00 am on Friday, 19 and will run through the gorgeous parks and streets of Aspen. All proceeds from the race will be donated to Wholesome Wave, an organization dedicated to increasing affordable access to healthy produce.

2. Concerts and performances. There will be a number of concerts and performances happening throughout the city. Our top picks include John Butler Trio who will be performing at Belly Up and the full afternoon of open-air concerts, on the sundeck atop Aspen Mountain, hosted by Aspen Snowmass on Sunday, June 18.

3. Vintner’s Dinners. Various restaurants throughout the area will be hosting dinners each night with a focus on specific wines, ingredients, or a featured chef. Click here to see the full list of restaurant details and pricing.

4. Late Night Parties. Lounges and bars will also be hosting special events after the festival has ended for the day. Festival veterans rave about The Little Nell parties as being the best parties in town. This year The Little Nell bar and lounge, Chair 9, will be hosting a themed party each night. We recommend the Champagne Party on Thursday night. Entry is free and is open to the public.
